The coastal resorts are also extremely popular, although finding available accommodation can be difficult, particularly with self-catering apartments, which often only deal with tour operators. Many hotels can be found in the following areas of the island.
Puerto del Rosario
A busy town which is home to around half of the island's overall population, Puerto del Rosario thrives on tourism, with a range of accommodation offering both coastal and harbour views. Hotels in Puerto del Rosario are never far from the action, often being just a short walk away from eateries, shopping centres and bars, which are clustered around the Calle León y Castillo.
A historic village containing a number of cultural attractions, those looking for peaceful and secluded accommodation should consider staying in this part of Fuerteventura. Rural houses (casas rurales) offer an insight into local life and are a popular alternative to more mainstream hotels on the island.
Caleta de Fuste

Full of reasonably priced beachfront hotels, many of which are aimed at families, Caleta de Fuste is also brimming with tourist attractions, including a lively harbour, a host of water sports and several glorious sandy beaches.
A major resort with a thriving tourism industry, Corralejo has much to offer in the way of hotels and all kinds of other accommodation, together with magnificent white sandy beaches and many nearby shops. Highlights in this area of Fuerteventura include the Parque Natural de Corralejo and a range of recreational activities around the coastline.
Full of life and attractions, the resort of Costa Calma can be found on the southern part of the island. Famed for its windsurfing conditions and nearby fishing hamlets, the beaches around the Costa Calma are amongst Fuerteventura's finest, with hotels never far away.
A popular, southerly town, Morro Jable is a noteworthy tourist resort and features a scenic harbour and eye-catching lighthouse. With miles and sandy beaches and a good selection of hotels, many people visit this area of Fuerteventura to enjoy the views and vibrant nightlife, with a range of clubs close to both the beaches and the Cosmo Centro Comercial centre.
